You have total control over the output of your video: you can choose to use custom cursors, to record the whole screen or just a section of it and can reduce or increase the quality of the recording depending on if you want smaller videos (for emailing to people, for instance) or you can have "best quality" ones for burning onto CD/DVD.īut all of these features would be worthless if CamStudio wasn't easy to use. If you really need to record a lot of people, I think you can make do with just recording from one screen.Don't like the sound of your voice? No problem.ĬamStudio can also add high-quality, anti-aliased (no jagged edges) screen captions to your recordings in seconds and with the unique Video Annotation feature you can even personalise your videos by including a webcam movie of yourself "picture-in-picture" over your desktop.Īnd if all that wasn't enough, CamStudio also comes with its own Lossless Codec that produces crystal clear results with a much smaller filesize compared with other more popular codecs, like Microsoft Video 1. Quite frankly, I don’t see the necessity of having a multi-camera recorder like this one, but Minicool’s offering is even worse since it’s actually more problematic. If even one camera recording causes lags, it’s only fair to assume that recording with a lot of cameras will bring an even less stellar performance. This makes it hard for other media players to play. You’ll also notice that the files are saved in VCR file format which is incredibly uncommon. They can be accessed through the built-in player, but you can’t open the files from that player either. For some reason, none of my files show up. It’s looking for the recorded files that’s confusing. The recording itself isn’t that difficult of a process. It doesn’t help that the program has a lot of typographical errors and there are no help files to be found. Everything else will have to be done through trial and error. The weird set-up process has been mentioned above, but that has instructions at the very least. From the very first time you use this program, you’ll be met with absolute confusion. Unfortunately, the bad far outweighs the good with the Multi-Camera Recorder. Users can change the size, resolution, and directory of the program. Users can also edit the customization options of the program. It is also able to convert videos from VCR file format to AVI file format. The program actually has a lot of useful features. The installation time for both of them is quick, though, so that lessens the difficulty a bit. That said, it would have been so much nicer and easier if users didn’t need to install both of them. ![]() It’s a little complicated at first, but once you get used to it, it’s actually fine. You’ll acquire the IP address you’re going to use when you install the server while the client will be able to send and receive audio and video files. Since the program is client-server based, you need to install both the Client and Server of the program. Should you bother with this software, or should you just stick to traditional recording methods? Weird Set-up ProcessĪnnoyingly, this Multi-Camera Recorder requires two programs to be downloaded and installed in order for it to work properly. However, it may well be that the Multi-Camera Recorder is more trouble than it’s worth. One way of being able to record several cameras simultaneously is by using the program, Multi-Camera Recorder developed by Minicool. ![]() ![]() Situations like a huge international call or just a local meeting being conducted through Skype will need a multi-camera screen capture software in order to fully document everything that’s happening. There aren’t a lot of instances where a multi-camera recorder might come in handy, but when in certain situations, it’s absolutely necessary. A multi-camera recorder that might be helpful
